Natural shoreline habitats are threatened by recreation, residential development and upland land use practices. Due to these cumulative threats, communities are beginning to lose these critical habitats.
Several years ago, I was asked to visit a Canadian Mental Health Association program funded by the First West Foundation. During the visit, I was introduced to a young woman who wanted to thank me personally for supporting the Youth Supper Club because it had such a positive impact on her life.
The Foundation was created on the vision of helping create vibrant and healthy communities. By working in partnership with local organizations, the Foundation seeks to actively contribute to meaningful projects that make a positive and lasting impact upon community life.
