A look back at the AFP Fraser Valley Summit - Great Things!

The First West Credit Union Leaders Fund was pleased to partner with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) – Fraser Valley Chapter in 2017 as they brought the Fraser Valley Summit: Greater Things! to the Fraser Valley.

With such a large number of nonprofits based in the Fraser Valley, it was a natural fit for the Leaders Fund to lend a hand as the focus of the summit revolved around supporting the sector and building capacity both professionally and as an organization. The Leaders Fund ensured that 18 local non-profit organizations received a bursary to attend the full-day summit.  The Summit exemplifies outstanding leadership development, professional training, education and workshops that will positively impact community leaders from across the Fraser Valley and beyond.

Attendee feedback included:

"I am so glad to have had the opportunity to attend yesterday -- not only for the quality of the program but for the opportunity to meet a wide range of professionals thinking creatively and sharing best practices. This was inspiring and oriented me to a community of colleagues that I and other members of our development team can seek to connect with in future."

"I had anticipated an interesting day, but have to tell you, that it exceeded my expectations in every way."

"The program was outstanding – informative, thought provoking, up to date. "
