Purpose
This policy provides that the information submitted to the First West Foundation (the “Foundation”) is used only for the purposes stated and is set out in this Privacy Policy. The Foundation adheres to the highest standards of confidentiality as outlined herein, within its Code of Conduct Policy and Confidentiality Policy.
Effective date
This policy, as amended from time to time, is effective as of November 30, 2021.
Owner
This policy is owned by the Foundation. Changes may not be made to this policy without the approval of the First West Foundation Board of Directors (the “Foundation Board”).
Policy Statement
What is personal information?
Personal information is information that identifies you. It includes your name and address, your email address, and identification numbers such as your drivers license number. The Foundation only collects personal information from you by fair and lawful means and for legitimate and necessary reasons.
We collect your information to:
- Process your donations.
- Update you with communications about how your contributions are making a positive impact in our communities.
- Provide you with charitable receipts.

For the First West Employee Giving Program

- Full Time or Part Time
- Region
- Location
Non-First West Employees Donor Program
- First Name
- Last Name
- Member # (if applicable)
- Address
Consent to disclose
By providing your consent on the Foundation Donor form when donating, you consent to the Foundation sharing your name and pledge amount with charities you have selected to receive your donation.
Right to Access your Personal Information
You have the right to access the personal information maintained about you in the Foundation’s records. You may also submit documentation to correct inaccuracies or provide written comments in disagreement with any material contained in your personal file. To view your personal records, address your request, in writing, to privacyofficer@firstwestcu.ca.
