Peter Scherle

Peter Scherle was a fixture on the First West Credit Union Board for nearly four decades, beginning in 1992 with predecessor First Heritage Savings Credit Union. With 35 years of experience in local, community minded business related to retail hospitality and real estate development, serving on all statuatory and non-statuatory committees. His business acumen and strong sense of community have proven to be valuable assets.

Until retiring in 2003, Peter was actively involved for 17 years as a shareholder and manager of Manning Park Resort, as well as several provincial campground operations employing more than 200 people.

A Credit Union member since 1955, Peter believes passionately in the cooperative values they represent.

Peter's bold commitment to the credit union system and its people, and his proven results and contributions to the industry, is ultimately what makes him an outstanding inductee for the First West Credit Union Leaders Fund.
