Mark Warawa Legacy Fund

The Mark Warawa Legacy Fund was established in 2020 by the Warawa family and community friends to recognize and celebrate Mark’s passion for the environment. A long-time resident of Langley, BC, Mark founded the Environmental Hero Awards in 2006—a community program designed to recognize youth, adults and organizations for their environmental stewardship.

The Fund will carry on Mark’s commitment of supporting local environmental grassroots activities and projects by providing annual grants to charitable organizations focused on environmental stewardship and sustainability.

As a Member of Parliament for Langley-Aldergrove from 2004-2019, Mark was named Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of the Environment in 2006 and is also a past Chair of the Standing Committee on the Environment from 2011-2013. In 2018, Mark accepted a new appointment to the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development.

Inaugural grant 

Join us as we celebrate the inaugural grant distribution from the Mark Warawa Legacy Fund. We are pleased to share Wagner Hills Farm Society in Langley is the recipient of a $412 Mark Warawa Legacy Fund grant, as selected by the Warawa family.
