Enderby & District Financial injects more than $29,000 into the local community

Created as a legacy gift in 2013, Enderby & District Financial established a charitable endowment with the First West Foundation to generate ongoing funding in support of the community of Enderby and area F of the North Okangan Regional District.

The First West Foundation, through its Enderby & District Financial Community Endowment, is granting $29,298 this year - a total of five grants - to deserving charities in the Enderby area. Funds will directly support programs or initiatives that contribute to building resilient and resourceful communities.

Little Free Libraries

Funding provides for the full ask of the Little Free Libraries request.  Three little libraries to be built locally and put up in ideal locations in the community. Includes maintenance and supplies for the libraries for one year.

Outreach Worker

Ongoing support for community support worker who provides direct support to families in the community, offering intense parenting support, referrals, crisis intervention and short-term counseling and life skills. Funds seek to expand the current work arrangement with additional hours.

Board of Education of School District 83 – A.L. Fortune Secondary School

Young Men & Women’s Youth Programming

After school programming (youth aged 13-17).  Run by the Aboriginal Outreach Worker, participation is open to the entire school but encouragement is made to high risk youth.

Health & Nutrition Program

Free snacks and meals for a vulnerable segment of the population: children aged 5-10 years during the After School Kid’s Program.
