Delivering Island Impact with $120,000 & 11 Community Grants

First West Foundation is pleased to announce its 2024 grants for the Island Savings Community Endowment benefitting 11 worthy charities with $120,000 in grant funding through a mix of funding streams: impact grants, capacity grants, SOAR grants and multi-year commitments.

Through the lens of trust-based philanthropy, impact grants are unrestricted, investing in an organization’s operations, programs, projects or services and include alignment to one of First West Foundation’s six identified Sustainable Development Goals (1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 17).

Trust based philanthropy is making a real difference in First West Foundation’s granting practices through the Island Savings Community Endowment.

“Thank you for being a leader in the field of philanthropy and taking such a progressive approach to grant-making. You are thoughtful in your approach, putting the needs of charities and the success of our programs first.”

The Island Savings Community Endowment proudly supports communities served by Island Savings on Vancouver, Pender and Salt Spring Islands. Since 2016, the endowment has provided 179 grants totaling $1,361,625 for community projects promoting thriving Island communities.
