$123,550 in grants set to land in Island communities
The First West Foundation is very pleased to announce the 2021 grants for the Island Savings Community Endowment totaling $123,550.
We are also celebrating 25 years of serving communities across all our regions. Established in 1996, the First West Foundation is proud to have invested over $7 million in meaningful projects to make a positive and lasting impact upon community life. In recognition of 25 years of helping communities thrive, more dollars are reaching the community this year and each grant disbursement will include an additional $25 to celebrate our 25th anniversary.
The Island Savings Community Endowment proudly supports projects for communities served by Island Savings on Vancouver, Pender and Salt Spring Islands. Since 2016, the endowment has provided 89 grants totaling $546,312 for community projects promoting thiving Island communities.
The Island Savings Community Endowment was created by Island Savings with a $2 million donation to the First West Foundation as a lasting legacy for the communities served by Island Savings. Grants from this fund are aimed at promoting resilient and sustainable Island communities.
